JOB TITLE: TRAINING OFFICER
REPORTING TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To take a pro-active role in the development and delivery of training across Deacon to ensure all staff are fully and correctly trained and suitably equipped with the skills to perform in their jobs to the best of their ability. To support the Operations Manager to ensure that training functions effectively and professionally at all times. Works closely the Management team to understand training needs and what is required to support the business most effectively.
KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITES :
To produce and implement relevant induction training programmes for all members of staff.
To produce ongoing refresher and development training programmes for all current members of staff (in groups or individually).
To understand, produce, communicate and train any changes to the business such as price changes, product launches etc through training.
To prepare, design, develop and deliver new training courses and be responsible for their evaluation and improvement.
To learn and be an expert in all training you deliver.
To deliver training of a high standard.
Responsible for ensuring the business benefit from all training delivered
To design, produce and maintain training resources.
To adhere to the Training & Competency Procedure/Processes set out by Barbon.
To attend and learn any external training courses delivered so we can then deliver internally.
To proactively identify where possible any ad-hoc training requirements of staff and communicate these so the relevant training can be planned and delivered.
To coach quality check staff, team leaders and managers and feedback on their performance.
To be responsible for maintaining the training library and the ongoing review and quality assessment of all training materials.
Check and assess training material against process.
PERSON SPECIFICATION –
Education / Qualifications
Essential
A level grade C or equivalent including English language or literature
Education / Qualifications
Desirable
Degree level or equivalent qualification, CIPD or equivalent training qualification.
Experience / Knowledge
Essential
Proven years previous experience in a training/teaching role
Be able to train people of all levels
Be able to design training material to a high standard
Experience / Knowledge
Desirable
Advanced level user of all relevant Microsoft applications. MS Word, Outlook, Power Point, Access, Visio & Project
