JOB TITLE: Analyst Programmer
REPORTING TO: Lincoln Software Development Manager
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Analyst Programmer will contribute to the development of web based Systems to meet the business requirements of the company, with the emphasis of the post on the documentation, design and development of new web based applications using PHP, Perl and MySQL
KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITES:
To support the IT team the analyst programmer will:
• To provide expert level design, development and implementation of web based business applications / systems according to existing corporate software development standards.
• Assist with process, data and object modeling in a variety of application and database environments (primarily PHP, Perl, MySQL)
• Contribute to systems architecture analysis, design, development, and enhancement
• Work as project team member during end to end system life cycle development of major projects.
• Lead minor projects and assists junior level staff with minor projects.
• To plan how work is to be carried out to meet targets of the project or team task.
• To produce system and user documentation during the development of systems.
• To design and develop database systems in MySQL
• Test, debug and document software developed both internally and externally.
• To carry out maintenance and support of assigned systems.
• Provide technical input to risk analysis and change control.
• Accurately report project status to senior project team members.
• Present a professional image in conduct and attitude.
• Assist with the development of department standards and evaluation of technology trends.
• Contribute to business area assessment, user needs analysis and business systems design.
• Assist with comprehensive cost/benefit analysis and preparation of business cases for new projects.
• To provide estimates of build and test effort from business requirements
• To facilitate training both individually and within group settings for employee and clients with regards to the use and upgrades of software.
• To assist in the scripting and execution of System and Integration Tests
