Purpose
The role of the Compliance Assistant is to provide administrative support to the Compliance Director.
The role of Compliance is to ensure there is a strong regulatory control framework in place throughout the Group.
In addition to the duties of a personal assistant a key part of the role is to work with the Compliance Director on high profile Compliance and Risk projects. Duties include:
• Support the Compliance Director and Group Risk Officer on Group strategic projects.
• Co ordinate the design and content of the Compliance & Risk Intranet is and ensure it always up to date
• Implement a training and competence scheme for Compliance and Risk staff
• Prepare presentations and help prepare Board and other Senior Management and Committee reports
• Oversee the Compliance budget
• Maintain FSA Letsure/Barbon records
• Ensure prompt responses are provided to all of the Compliance Director’s emails, telephone messages and post
• Co-ordinate and organise briefings and Compliance and Risk team meetings
• Prepare monthly expenses for the Compliance Director
• Maintain staff/holiday/absence/BCP/financial records for the Compliance and Risk team
• Arrange travel and accommodation for the Compliance Director/Group Risk Officer and also for ad hoc Team events
The job holder needs to have good keyboard/computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively – both verbal and written. They must be able to operate as part of a team but also alone, be able to accept, interpret and execute instructions, think clearly, be pro active and, above all, show initiative.
